Wednesday 9th March
Tony Richardson was invited to attend an expert group roundtable event to discuss Internet Hacking and what companies can do to improve their defences, hosted by UK Fast in their prestigious offices in the centre of Manchester. The video and transcript is being distributed to all mainstream news mediums, as well as ukfast.tv on Youtube.
Tuesday 8th March
Tony Richardson attended the Data Protection Officers Conference in Manchester, hosted and organised by the Information Commissioners Office (www.ico.gov.uk). The presentations covered the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Data Protection Act 1998. There are some interesting developments on the horizon, not least the need to gain explicit authorisation from anyone browsing your website to use cookies for identification and tracking purposes
Friday 4th March
Whilst completing his MSc in Cyber Security SecuraPro MD Tony Richardson was invited to present a whitepaper Cloud Computing Improves Security for the SME to senior Microsoft security personnel at Lancaster University.
As a direrct result Microsoft has proposed a collaboration between its own security executives, the elite MSc students and the information security lecturers, Philippe Jan and Dr.Dan Prince, to develop a cloud computing security whitepaper.
